Het Zweetkamertje

"Het Zweetkamertje"

D.B.W. Postma graduated in legal sciences in Leiden. He lived for a while at Rapeburg 4.
The university was located in the Academy Building, Rapenburg 73 Leiden. The so-called sweat room (Het Zweetkamertje) was also located in the Academy Building.

This room was a waiting room for students waiting for the results of their exams. It was a tradition to write your name on one of the walls of the Sweat Room after the graduation ceremony. There are now many thousands of names or signatures of graduates here. These include Queens Beatrix and Juliana, King Willem-Alexander and the well-known WOII resistance fighter Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema.
